Women's cross country has top seven finishers in meet at UMA

AUGUSTA, Maine -- Colby College's Hannah Springhorn (pictured) placed first as the Mules took the top seven spots in winning the University of Maine at Augusta Women's Cross Country Invitational on Saturday.
 
Springhorn had a time of 20 minutes, 36 seconds to earn the victory heading into next Saturday's Bowdoin College Invitational.
 
Brit Biddle placed second with a 20:55 and Kaitlyn Deming had a 21:57 for third place. Three first-year runners -- Elizabeth Marsh (22:32, fourth), Kate Danziger (22:34, fifth), and Julia Lancia (23:29, seventh) helped Colby win the event with a score of 15. Sophomore Ellie Spector placed sixth for the Mules in 23:12.
 
Thomas College (88) and Maine-Augusta (105) were the other two competing teams.
