Biddeford, Maine - The Colby College Women's Soccer team evened up their record with am in-state victory over the University of New England Nor'easters 2-0. The Mules are now 3-3-2 on the season while UNE drops to 4-3-2.
While play was even during the first 45 minutes (shots 7-7, saves 3-3, corners 1-1), Colby found the back of the net when Mannon Frykholm passed it ahead to Kara Wilson (photo) who tallied her first score of the year. The play turned a little lopsided during the second half as the Mules wanted to put the game away and ensure the tally in the win column. Colby took nine more shots in the second half to UNE's two, and Chloe Schiff scored her first goal of the season off a feed by Hallie Schwartzman. Goal keeper Shannon Gray turned away four shots to ensure the fifth shutout of the season for the Mules.
Colby returns to play this Saturday when they host Williams College in front of a Homecoming crowd.
