Women's hockey earns road victory against Nor'easters

BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Moira Mullaney scored on the power play with 4:13 left in the second period to break a 1-1 tie and lead the Colby College women's hockey team to a 2-1 win at University of New England on Tuesday.
The Mules improve to 3-2 overall and snap UNE's six-game unbeaten streak. The Nor'easters drop to 9-2-1 overall.
Game highlights
* Lily von Stade scored her first goal in a Colby uniform at 14:24 of the opening period. She put home a rebound after a shot by first-year Lexi Cafiero (pictured), who had an assist along with Tay Munson.
* UNE scored at 13:30 of the second period on Meagan Accardi's first goal of the year on a one-timer in front of the goal.
* Mullaney scored her first of the season just 2:17 later off another assist from Munson.
By the numbers
* Colby goaltender Cierra San Roman stopped 27 shots to earn her second win of the season.
* Julia Benjamin made 26 saves for the Nor'easters.
* Both teams had 28 shots, but the Mules had the lone power play goal of the night.
