Burns, Dunbar honored by MWBCA

WATERVILLE, Maine -- Colby College junior Ainsley Burns (Barrington, R.I.) was named to the Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association (MWBCA) All-State Team and teammate Keagan Dunbar (Middlebury, Vt.) was selected as the association's top rookie Wednesday.

Burns (pictured) was selected to the second team, while Dunbar was the MWBCA Rookie of the Year and was on the All-Rookie Team.
Burns was third in the New England Small College Athletic Conference in blocked shots per game (1.5), fifth in scoring (14.7), sixth in made 3-point field goals (1.7), and seventh in defensive rebounds (4.6). She led the Mules in scoring and total blocks (35).
Heading into her final season next year, Burns has 741 career points, 266 rebounds, 79 assists, and 74 blocks.
Dunbar earned the MWBCA Rookie of the Week honor four times during the season, including three weeks in a row. 
Dunbar was second on the Mules in scoring (12.2), first in made 3-point field goals (45), tied for second in steals (13), and tied for third in assists (41). She was tied for third in the NESCAC in made 3-point field goals per game (1.9).
