Fields does it again - wins another EISA Nordic ski race

HUNTINGTON, Vt. -- Sunday races have been good to Colby College's Zane Fields after he won his second event of the season by taking the men's 15-kilometer freestyle mass start at the Saint Michael's College Carnival at Sleepy Hollow.

Fields was a winner on the Eastern Intercollegiate Ski Association (EISA) circuit for the second Sunday in a row after winning the freestyle mass start at the Colby Carnival at Quarry Road Trails.
Fields blew away the field with a time of 37 minutes, 56.8 seconds. Middlebury College's Peter Wolter took second in 38:31.7. The win last Sunday was the first for the Colby men's Nordic ski program.
Fields, like he did last Sunday, helped the Mules take third place with a score of 91. 
Sam Sinkler took 22nd place in 40:17.5, Foss Kerker was 26th with a 40:40.5, Ian Liphart was just behind Kerker in 40:40.6, and Gabe Forest placed 40th in 41:20.4.
For the Colby women, first-year Kirsten Miller placed 15th overall in 30:32.4 to lead the Mules to a sixth-place finish. Claire Waichler had another top-20 finish by placing 17th in 30:33.7. 
Skylar Tupper took 36th in 31:25.7, Talia Seltzer was a place behind in 37th in 31:28.6, and Vivian Hawkinson finished 49th in 32:20.5.
