Gross, Spafford both compete at national individual tourney

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Colby College first position player Elliot Gross won his first match in the Molloy East Division before falling in a quarterfinal at the College Squash Association Individual National Championship on Friday at Moses Brown School.

ross took a 3-2 victory over Franklin & Marshall's Shamseldeen Abbas in a round of 16 match. He then fell 3-0 to University of Virginia's Patrick McElroy in a Molloy East quarterfinal.
 
In Molloy North play, Colby's Alex Spafford fell in three sets to Yale's David Yacobucci in the round of 16 match. Spafford then lost to MIT's Henry Martin in a consolation quarterfinal match by a 3-0 score.
