WATERVILLE, Maine -- Colby College, the New England Small College Athletic Conference champions in men's soccer, heads to New Jersey for the opening round of the NCAA Division III Tournament.
Colby (8-6-4 overall) will play at host Montclair State (17-1-2) Saturday at 5 p.m.. With a victory, the Mules would meet the winner of the other game at Montclair State between Haverford College and New York University on Sunday at 7 p.m. NYU and Haverford play in the other game Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
Ticket prices are $6 for adults and $3 for seniors, students, and children. All parking will be in the Red Hawk Deck. There is a fee for parking.
The Mules won the NESCAC title Sunday with a 4-3 penalty-kick shootout win against Williams College after the two teams played to a 0-0 overtime tie. Montclair State is the champion of the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC).
Colby was one of six NESCAC teams to make the national tourney. Williams, Tufts University, Amherst College, Connecticut College, and Middlebury College also earned bids. Local rival Thomas College and unbeaten St. Joseph's College are other Maine schools in the tourney.
In the top part of Colby's bracket, Conn College will face Thomas in the opening round.
