Men's lacrosse blanks MMA

WATERVILLE, Maine -- Colton Michel (pictured) had three goals and three assists and Mike Logan was 13-for-14 on face-offs for the Colby College men's lacrosse team in a 20-0 win over Maine Maritime Academy on Wednesday night at Harold Alfond Stadium.

The Mules (2-7 overall) won 21-of-24 face-off attempts to control the time of possession. Jack Marschke was 8-for-10 for the Mules on draws. 

Kevin Seiler added two goals and two assists for the Mules, who had 48 shots on goal. Lane Kadish added two goals and one assist, while Tucker Dietrick and Don Vivian both had one goal and two assists. Leading scorer Austin Sayre added two goals.

Mason Brady and Sean Dillmeier both scored their first collegiate goals for Colby. Harrison Alpaugh, Myles Smith, Scott Miller, Andrew Ward, Teddy Fenton, Yuta Murata, and Rocky Tonkel also tallied for the Mules.

Brad McCarthy scooped eight ground balls for Colby. Graham Lian added three caused turnovers and four ground balls. John Pappas and Tonkel also had four ground balls.

C.J. Layton, Payton Fales, and Christian Carlino combined for seven saves.

John Stolz made 15 saves, had five ground balls, and one caused turnover for the Mariners. George Doe added three ground balls, while Dean Samuelson had two ground balls and one caused turnover.
