Ethan graduated from William Penn Charter School, where he was a member of the crew and water polo teams. He was a member of the Cum Laude Society and won the Jazz Band Award.


Ethan is majoring in Philosophy and French Studies. He works on campus at the Colby Bookstore. Over the summer, he interned at the Center for Art Law in Brooklyn.

2017-2018 season highlights: Ethan rowed from the seventh spot for the second straight year. He was on the NESCAC Spring All-Academic Team and the National Invitational Rowing Championship (NIRC) All-Academic Team.

2016-2017 season highlights: Ethan was named to the All-NESCAC Second Team after sitting in the seventh spot in the varsity 8 boat. He helped the varsity 8 take ninth at the New England Championships and 10th at the National Invitational Rowing Championships (NIRC). Ethan also helped the Mules beat University of New Hampshire, University of Vermont, and Coast Guard Academy. Colby started the spring by taking fourth out of 20 boats in Georgia. Ethan, who also raced from the fourth spot in the varsity 4 boat, was on the NIRC All-Academic Team and the NESCAC Spring All-Academic Team.

2015-2016 season highlights: Ethan competed in the first varsity boat in his first season at Colby. He helped the Mules finish first at the home regatta, second in the Petite Final and eighth at the New England Championships, and 13th at the ECAC National Championship.
