WATERVILLE, Maine -- Colby College's Noah Tyson (Rutland, Vt.) was honored for the second time as the Maine Men's Basketball Coaches and Writers Association Rookie of the Week.
Tyson averaged 13.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 1.0 blocks without committing a turnover in a 1-1 week for Colby. Tyson had 16 points, while shooting 4-8 from three-point range, grabbed seven rebounds, and dished out seven assists in Colby’s 103-93 win over Tufts. Tyson recorded 10 points, eight rebounds, and two assists as Colby fell to Bates.
Tyson leads the Mules in rebounds per game (8.5) and ranks eighth in the NESCAC. He is fifth in the league in defensive rebounds per game (6.5).
Tyson is third on Colby in scoring (11.7), tied for second in made 3-point field goals (36), second in blocked shots (9), and has committed just six turnovers in 13 games.
The Mules play host to Pine Manor College in a non-conference game Thursday at 6 p.m.
