WATERVILLE, Maine -- Colby College senior guard Joe Connelly was 7-for-7 from 3-point range and had a collegiate-high 23 points to help the Mules to a 95-68 victory over Dean College in non-conference men's basketball Wednesday night.
Connelly was 8-for-9 from the field and added two assists. Patrick Stewart made his only two 3-point attempts on the way to 14 points, six rebounds, and three assists. Ethan Schlager was 3-for-4 from long range and had 11 points and three assists, while Ronan Schwarz also had 11 points on 5-for-8 shooting.
Randolf Thurman led Dean (11-9) with 13 points and five rebounds. John Lambert was 4-for-5 from the field for 10 points and teammate Jaquan James had 10 points, three assists, and three steals. Naquwan Solomon added eight points and three steals for the Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs did battle back and only trailed 35-28 after a 3-point shot by James with 7:51 to halftime. Colby, though, went on a 15-1 run over the next 5:18 to go up 50-29. The Mules took a 52-33 lead into halftime and extended the lead to 72-42 in the opening six minutes of the second half.
