Colby football falls in road game at Tufts

SOMERVILLE, Mass. -- Colby College safety Don Vivian had eight tackles and an interception, but Tufts University took a 48-0 victory in NESCAC football Saturday.

By the numbers
* Mule linebacker Marcus Bullard had 11 tackles (7 solo), while defensive end Carson Katen added 10 tackles (7 solo) and one sack. Linebacker Will Terzi continued to have a solid first season with nine tackles. Fellow linebacker Sean Godin added eight tackles.
 
* Colby punter Moises Celaya had six punts for a 38-yard average and one kick inside the 20-yard line.
 
* Ethan Smith had six catches for 31 yards for the Mules (2-6 overall). Jake Schwern rushed for 57 yards and Brandon Miner had two catches.
 
* Tufts (6-2) quarterback Ryan McDonald had 223 yards passing, 51 yards rushing, and four total touchdowns.
 
Next up
* The Mules can win the Colby-Bates-Bowdoin (CBB) title with a victory in the final game of the season against Bowdoin next Saturday at 1 p.m. at Harold Alfond Stadium. Colby's seniors will be honored and it will be Military Appreciation Day. The Mules and the Polar Bears, who beat Bates on Saturday are both 1-0 in the CBB.
