Richman named National Football Foundation College Scholar Athlete for the state of Maine

WATERVILLE, Maine – Matt Richman, a senior wide receiver for the football team, was named the 2019 National Football College Scholar Athlete for the state of Maine. He was the only player recognized in the state.

Richman was also a Phi Beta Kappa student at Colby, meaning his grade point average was in the top 9% of his class academically, was a finalist for the Richard L. Whitmore Award at Colby, which recognizes a male student-athlete for qualities of academic and athletic excellence to the college, and was named to both the NESCAC Fall All-Sportsmanship Team and the NESCAC Fall All-Academic Team this past season.

As a player, Richman played a key role in the Mules' offense, totaling 18 receptions for 132 yards and a touchdown his senior year. Richman graduates this spring.
