Wilson earns first top-10 finish in EISA race

JEFFERSONVILLE, Vt. -- Colby College men's alpine skier Matt Wilson earned his first top-10 finish of his young collegiate career by taking eighth in the giant slalom at the Saint Michael's College Carnival on Friday at Smuggler's Notch.

Wilson (pictured) had runs of 53.57 and 55.14 for a two-run total time of 1:48.71. He scored 33 points to help the men's team place seventh overall.
 
Max Richard took 26th place for the Colby men in 1:50.40, while Colbey Derwin was 36th in 1:51.90.
 
For the Colby women, Sandy Schoepke took 26th place in 1:55.86 with runs of 57.17 and 58.69.
 
Lily Hogan finished 28th with a 1:56.09 finish and Sophia Sherman took 35th in 1:56.82. The women also placed seventh overall in the team standings.
