WATERVILLE, Maine -- Kendall Smith and Lexie Perticone each had five points on the day to help the 10th-ranked Colby College women's lacrosse team win for the eighth straight time in a 21-14 non-conference victory over Colorado College on Thursday at Bill Alfond Field.
Smith (pictured) had four goals and one assist, while Perticone added three goals and two assists. Perticone reached 50 points on the season with 29 goals and 21 assists.
Kelsey Bowen also had four points on the day with three goals and one assist for the Mules. Emilie Klein and Maddie Hatch both had one goal and two assists. Celeste Murtha finished with two goals and the Mules had single goals from Emma Banks, Gemma Bready, and Cassie Rodgers.
The Mules had a 41-21 shot advantage in the game, but the Tigers were able to get the most of their shots on goal. Colorado College also had a 20-16 advantage in draw controls.
Klein had four caused turnovers, two ground balls, and one draw control. Jackie Brokaw added two caused turnovers, two draw controls, and two ground balls. Georgia Lubrano finished with two caused turnovers and two ground balls.
The game was tied 2-2 when the Mules went on a 4-0 scoring run to up 6-2 with 19:27 to halftime. Colorado College cut Colby's lead to 12-9 with 2:45 remaining to intermission, but Emilie Klein scored a key goal with just eight seconds to play.
Izzy Scribano stopped two shots in 49:42 and Sam Burch made one save in the final 10:18 for the Mules.
