WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Sasha Fritts capped off a huge week for her and the 16th-ranked Colby College women's lacrosse team by scoring a collegiate-high seven goals in a 15-12 win at Williams College on Saturday.
Fritts, who had five goals in an 18-9 win over eighth-ranked Bowdoin on Wednesday, scored her seven goals on just eight shots. She is up to 28 goals and three assists for 31 points this season.
Colby won its seventh straight game Saturday and now have at least a seven-game winning streak in four of the past five years. The 2013 team started the season at 8-0, while the 2015 team also won eight straight.
Goalie play was one of the keys of the game, with Izzy Scribano stopping 10 shots for the Mules. Two Williams goalies combined for just two stops.
The Mules opened up a 6-3 lead in the opening half after Banks converted a free-position shot with 2:34 to the break. Williams, however, scored twice in the final 1:05 to make it 6-5.
Fritts scored three goals, while Perticone and Bowen both scored twice in the final 16:28 to end the game on a 7-2 scoring run. Emma Tenbarge tallied with 14:40 remaining for Williams to keep the Ephs ahead by an 11-10 margin. The Mules, though, scored five goals in less than eight minutes to go up 15-11. Bowen had both of her goals and an assist during the run.
