Pattabhi Jois (1915-2009) based on the ancient Radiant Yoga Sūtras of Patañjali. This vigorous method of yoga involves synchronizing the breath with a progressive series of postures. The result is improved circulation, a light and strong body, and a calm mind. Once this sequence is internalized, this yoga form is particularly amenable to the adoption of self practice. Dr. Klepach studied Ashtanga while living in New Zealand, and teaches Human Anatomy and Physiology among other subjects in the Colby Biology Department.
